Footballer goes partying in a skirt!
You wouldn't expect football to be the home of fashion freedom, but life is full of surprises.

Proof that these catwalk designs do get out into the real world. It's a pity he looks totally wrecked. I'll forgive him for the leggings: a man in his position could expect to have paparazzi taking upskirt shots!
The comments are less Neanderthal than you might expect on the Daily Wail. Many women and even some men seem to think it's quite OK for a man to wear a skirt.

Re: Footballer goes partying in a skirt!
Did not see much of the front of the skirt (kilt).
From the rear it would appear to be a kilt with
box pleats and contrasting colored red stars
within the pleats.
Odd black leggings and combat boots underneath
the kilt - top ok a tad long IMHO.
About the guy with his arm stretched into the
photo - don't know if he is showing him the way
in or out of the party.

"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

Another article scorning men who step out of line, alas.
" [He was] dressed to impress - but failed with the execution." ?
If he did not impress the journalist, who wrote the article?
And what is meant by "he still fell well short in the fashion stakes." ?
and "Kanye was also unable to make the daring fashion statement work" ?
What a load of rubbish!

Unusually for the Daily Wail, the comments are remarkably even-handed. If the neanderthals who read the Mail can come out with such progressive thoughts, there may be hope!
I quite liked the look....

Nice skirt, shame about the write up.
I wonder if this was related to a comment I heard in Tesco yesterday. We were queueing at the checkout (me in denim Union kilt) when someone at the next checkout made the comment "That looks like a referee kilt". I'm no football fan so did a quick google search but couldn't find any hot football topic about referees in kilts.

If I want to dress like a woman, I'll wear jeans.
Re: Footballer goes partying in a skirt!
This goes to show that all the efforts made by fashion designers to get men to wear skirts some day will pay out.
David Beckham wears skirts too and he is a well known macho as well.
Things are really changing--to the good.

The outfit clearly came from Givenchy Fall 2012: http://www.skirtcafe.org/forums/viewtop ... 75&t=12868 .

So typical of the people who write these articles. They are the ones stuck in the dark ages trying to oppress men. What I really liked though was ready the comments on the bottom. I was suprised how many suppoorted and defended his right to wear a skirt. Hopefully this is a reflection of society changing their attitude about what people wear, in particularly men in skirts.

The journalist is rather negative, isn't he. Personally, I think Mr Cisse pulled it off pretty damn well. Better than Mr West, in fact. (Though kudos to him for skirting as well!)
As for the comments, about 10 are positive, and about 7 are neutral (though many are open to interpretation). As Meat Loaf nearly said, 10 out of 32 ain't bad!

My sentiments exactly, Martin, I thought he looked pretty good in that outfit. Imo, the writer of that article was a dunder-head.couyalair wrote:Another article scorning men who step out of line, alas.

I say big up the man in a skirt! Look at the stupid reporter from the dark ages. What does he know about fashion.
I bet he was wearing some boring black trousers !
