An Idea

Post by BobM »

Have any of you guys seen a movie called The Dress Code? It was re-released some time back with the title "Bruno" (not to be confused with a gay movie of the same name). It concerns a little boy, beautifully played by Alex Linz, and features Shirley McClaine, Gary Sinese, Kathy Bates, and so on. Seriously big names for a serious topic. The premise is that a little boy (Linz) sees dresses as "holy vestments", and doesn't really care who doesn't like it (Yo!, My man!). The resulting interplay of personalities is fascinating. If you haven't seen it, please do so. I think a conversation here about how Bruno was received--both negative and positive reception--might be helpful for some of our brethren who have met with domestic resistance. If you want to see it you will probably have to buy it. It is available at minimal cost on Amazon.com, and might be available in your local video store.

The purpose of this new thread is to discuss the movie, and how it bears on each of us as individuals.
