Survey completed.

I found it interesting that the survey seems to start from the assumption that men can't wear skirts. This is a common perception in the world at large and makes no sense at all. There is no national dress code in any western country that I'm aware of that bans skirts for men; it is simply something that most men have never even thought of and, if they do they fall back onto the misconception that men can't wear skirts. Curious how mental conditioning works.

Have fun,

Ian.

PS It would be good to see the results of the survey and also a list of the places where it has been advertised. For future reference, it might have been a good idea to include a question asking where respondents had heard of the survey.

The poster mentioned earlier that she'd developed the survey before she found SkirtCafe. She's since learned that it's not a matter of "can't", but rather one of "won't" and "don't".

Survey completed. Hope it helps, and good luck with your project. And yes, I do wear a skirt, but seldom in public.

She did indeed, however she had obviously been thinking about men wearing skirts for a while when she created the survey and yet still used "can't" rather than one of the alternatives you suggest. I just found that interesting and indicative of the mountain that needs to be climbed before more men will consider wearing a skirted garment. It was not intended as a criticism, just an observation.

Have fun,

Ian.

Aye, it is a substantial hill, isn't it. Here's hoping more guys decide to climb it -- the view from the top is pretty good and the breeze refreshing!

I was doing a bit of light gardening work on Saturday - tidying up mostly. The sun was shining and I was wearing an A-line knee-length skirt. First time outdoors this year with bare legs, and the breeze certainly was refreshing!

Having found Skirtcafe and cavassed our opinions, you will probably find lots of us are very happy to complete your survey. (I've just done it.) But won't that skew your results and affect the validity of your conclusions?

Maybe you need a separate set of questions for skirtsmen (and their other halves), but you can easily find out about our opinions and experiences by reading what we have already written.
Keep on skirting,

Alastair
