I'll also help if I can. I have a spinoff site called skirts4men.myfreeforum.org. The link to it is at the bottom of THIS page. A lot of the long time members of this site are also on my site. It's also open to anyone interested in promoting skirts/kilts/or any kind of 2 legs in 1 tube garments. A place to look if you've not already researched it is the South and Central Pacific and Indian Oceans. Fiji (sulu), Kingdom of Tonga (tupenu), the Maoris in Australia and New Zealand (lavalava), Hawaiian Islands = USA's 50th state and the traditional (Kain and Sarong, in Hawaii the sarong at waist to knee length is a men's garment and from shoulders to mid calf, a women's garment.) Sarongs are usually dark blues, reds, purples and black with printed tropical fish and/or flowers covering both garments. The Kain, a men's garment is usually a lighter colored garment with streaks of darker color (a common combo on a kain is bright yellow with dark orange streaks). This garment is very common in group dancing.
I've spent a lot of time in Hawaii and Tonga. I also was part of a movie shoot in Majuro, the capital of the Marshall Islands called "Deadly Fathoms" by the 2nd week of shooting all the men on the shoot had dropped their trousers and migrated into kains or sulu. Even tho they are a common garment there, they have no traditional "Marshall Islands" skirted garment. The Marshall Islands were named and populated right after WW2 when all the populace of the Bikini Atoll had to be moved permanently due to the A Bomb tests from 1946 to 1957 in Bikini Lagoon. Not knowing in 1946 how long the radiation would stay in the water and sand there, they were forcibly and permanently moved to other Marshallese Islands by the USA.
In 1958 the ground, sunken ships and lagoon was deemed safe for human habitation again and
US Navy personell moved in to help re-inhabit the island but all the former residents, having found property and lives on other islands, refused to move back and now live on Majuro, the capital of the Marshall Islands.
Our movie was to dive on all the ships blown up in the A bomb tests now that the lagoon was radiation clean. Several members of our Skirt Cafe have copies of Deadly Fathoms. If anyone wants to send me a DVD + or - disc NOT rewritable, I'll put a copy of the movie on it.
