North Americans seem to be more cylindrical than Europeans. I once ordered cotton kilt from USAkilts; it has no shaping at all, no difference between waist and hip measurement. It was sent straight back to the maker, (who refunded me a 5-dollar bill that has been sitting in a drawer losing value every day).
Without a waistline, it must be difficult to keep any lower garments in the right place, bifurcated or not. Is it your Coca-cola diet that makes you this shape?

Hmm ... should I put on my tin hat and join the battle, or just watch from the sidelines?

Supersize me!

Actually North Americans come in a range of sizes from skeletally-thin to profoundly rotund -- and all sizes in between. Some of us actually manage to occupy more than one niche in our lives.

Seriously, though, if one pays attention to what the press is saying at any given point we're becoming a nation of extremes, and, like our politics, there's no middle ground. Whilst this has already been fruitful ground for various satirical authors (Robert L. Aspirin comes to mind) it's really not the case, and from other bits I hear from the press (radio, mainly), Europeans are starting to suffer the same alleged fate as us Yanks.

Of course, there's nothing new in this, and it's also a fruitful source of double-standard: men get called "corpulent"; women get called "fat". That's not fair.

I beg to differ! I get called fat. I don't mind that! I call myself fat, because I am fat. corpulant, portly, rotund, well fed, big boned, chubby, well built, chunky, they all mean fat. Somewhere inside me a small thin quiet man is screaming - to stay there!

I don't remember eating him, I must have been drunk!

I may have written this before, B&B. Whilst on that sailing cruise in the Caribbean we were having buffet lunch one day and this 6' 4" skinny Brazilian had heaped his large plate almost to excess and sat down beside me. I asked him how did he put such quantities of food away and stay so thin, to which he quickly replied that he was feeding a very hungry tapeworm!!

Maybe they sell them on Clydeside?

It's sad but true. We Brits are not much thinner than you Yanks.

Until recently it always struck me how few fat people I saw on holiday in Europe - in various different countries but not counting resorts full of sunburnt Brits. But gradually there are more fat teenagers there too. Rather sad, and not good in the long term as all the related madical conditions become more common and put a strain on the health services.

A little resort in Campania, southern Italy, a few years ago. Just about everyone was Italian - I only heard three foreign-sounding families in a week, including us! All the local teenage girls were skinny and wore very little. Ah, happy memories!

Unfortunately, here down under, we have the same epidemic in being overwieght, the current plague of the 21st century.

:hmmm:

When we were 'kids', we would grab a quick snack and be out the door
bike riding, climbing trees, building imaginary forts/castles - generally
burning off the calories. Now the I-Pod, I-this or I-that gizmo is taking
over and creating a 'virtual play world'. There the only calories burned
are in the 'brain cells' and not around the waistline.

Just my $.02 worth :!: ;)

I will be having a circumcision on medical (& pleasure related) grounds later in the year :pale: , so hopefully being able to wear a skirt would be good, letting air to the unmentionables & not rubbing, as shorts or trousers might, where I'm not supposed to.
I have been told to not get aroused for the advised 4 weeks due to possible pain issues etc. Luckily for her, Mrs PC will only be interested in whether I'm in pain or not as s*x isn't on her agenda any more, really :faint: :blue: :blue:

A circumcision in adulthood must be a painful prospect indeed. Ouch!!!

I had 'The Snip' ten thousand years ago when we both decided that four offsprings were enough. That was sore enough for several weeks afterwards, I recall.

Circumcision will certainly be an effective form of birth control but only until the scars have healed, I should think.

I will be interested to hear if submitting newly exposed sensitive glans to free rubbing fabric is actually an advantage. Choosing your fabric carefully might be wise. I have a circumcised friend will never again wear a (woollen) kilt after one night of serious chafing :blue:

Well, op is now done & has not caused the mobility problems I was expecting. I even went on the St. Georges day parade with my troop of Scouts, the next day - although quite slowly & not sitting during the service.
First couple of days I was quite restricted in some things & during the night I didn't realise how many erections I had, until I forced myself to have thoughts about something very unsexy to calm myself. I didn't want to be restitched down there!

Wearing a skirt has been most essential for the affected area as it needs to dry out, not be sweaty, so no knickers either :( . I gave the kids the choice of having me walk around the house naked, with a skirt or a sarong. They chose sarong without any hesitation, but I did say I'd be wearing a skirt at some time. "No, not one of your mums, I'll get one of my own."
Wife will probably go a bit mental about that, but I need to recover, first & foremost.
I shall take a pic probably & include it later.

Full recovery for normal "activity"  will take up to 4 weeks, with full confidence a little longer I suspect.
