Actually, my point was that different people do very different things, but that it doesn't break down neatly along male/female lines.

Some people (both men and women) are very anxious about exposing too much, and so adjust their clothing choices to make it almost impossible, while others (both men and women) don't care that much what an errant gust of wind may show, or may even enjoy running the risk. And some even dress so that, if or when that gust of wind comes, people will have something interesting to see.

While it may be that all the guys that Kodiak has -- er -- investigated have made a particular choice of what to wear under their kilt/skirt, there are a lot that have made very different choices.

BTW, in contrast to what some people in this thread have said, I am not offended if someone (male or female) asks me what I have on underneath. Depending on the context (and how I'm asked), I may or may not give a straight answer, but I figure that being asked is part of the fun of wearing a skirt. And it doesn't happen as often as you might think. On the other hand, I'm less tolerant of people just walking up and pulling up my skirt or kilt, although that hasn't happened more than once or twice.

Nitroglycerine works great. Only real problem with it is I keep worrying I'm going to blow up like Hiroshima if I move or sit too violently.

I agree completely. :thewave:

Depends ... Depends on; what I'm wearing, what I'm doing, weather... all options are available.

In warmer weather, I wear normal pants (underwear, not what you Americans call pants! :p ), the same as what I would wear under trousers. In colder weather, I wear pants and leggings.

Under my sarongs when I wear them? I'm dressed "traditionally", that is to say, nothing. Yes, they're long enough, and I'm careful how I sit. I wear my underpants....under pants!

Now, as to the question of those questions...well, once I was telling someone that I sure noticed the wind once when I went out in a sarong on the 31st of October, 2005. The immediate questions where about what I was wearing underneath. Then I said "I mean around my LEGS." Unless I was wearing long-johns, tights, or something like that, underneath...well, whether or not I had something underneath would be irrelevant. Clothing does not protect anything that it does not cover!

I'm glad there's been no radical degeneration of this thread. On a couple of similar threads on the "predecessor board", things did get a bit dicey, and there was a kind reminder to keep things decent. And on one thread on this board, I think....there was a rude insult to someone who gave a "traditional" answer. I pray there aren't any "vultures" circling around, waiting to swoop down and tear into this thread in a nasty and mean manner.

And this whole idea that anyone who choses not to, of either sex, is somehow either a sexual predator or somehow disturbed or "very desperate"...I wish that idea would go the way of the steam locomotive. Wait, at least steam locomotives have value as museum pieces and for heritage railways! *LAUGHS*
