Out and about in NOLA

Post by ChrisM »

I was out wandering downtown today with my lady wife. We stopped into a local furniture store. After greeting the owner we browsed, when we heard him holler from his station near the door "Hey, you want to hear a funny story?"

"Sure"

"Well, I guess living in New Orleans has changed me. I've only lived here five years, I'm a redneck from the mountains of Virginia. But when you walked in the door wearing a skirt, I didn't think 'Oh look, that guy's wearing a skirt.' Instead, my FIRST reaction was to look and see if your shoes matched the skirt. Too many of the skirted guys that come in here have no ability to coordinate."

:)

Come on in guys, the water's fine.

That is a funny and hopeful story, Chris. Exposure does change minds. It probably is true that men in skirts in general are not so off putting as uncoordinated men in skirts.

Greg's Furniture, on Decatur near Esplanade.

We live in the Marigny and spend most of our out-and-about time in the Quarter.
