Denim skirt from Benetton
Benetton offers a wrap midi denim skirt in its New Collection. It is a mid-calf length skirt in pure cotton chambray. Plain front panel, back pleats, and clashing white stitching. Slightly flared cut and wrap closure with side buckle. I like it.

Re: Denim skirt from Benetton
I seem to think they've sold "kilts" before? Nothing turned up on the forum, though.
Odd choice they made with the footwear - feeling like boots or sandals would have looked better... but I'm a bit partial to boots at the moment.
Sizing is also huge - I can't quite tell how many inches of adjustment it has.
Overall though, good look and certainly something along the lines what some of us discussed re:denim being the "entry" skirt material for men's skirts.

Nice skirt... but dat price!
However I see it can be paired with a tee-shirt of similar color for a cool $54 extra.
And it comes with a pocket!

I see the sizes start at 34 and go upwards. I'm a 32. Are you guys still snacking on high fructose corn syrup in the US?!

I'm a 29", but perhaps my intolerance to that stuff has helped me a bit (I get stomach aches). They put it in everything, one time I ate an Italian sausage on a bun and started getting stomach pains... sure enough, HFCS in the buns! This wasn't just one time - and it wasn't because I knew there was HFCS in the bun. After multiple times forgetting about this / eating buns with it I finally started remembering to check.Myopic Bookworm wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 7:50 pm I see the sizes start at 34 and go upwards. It's amazing how the body acclimates. Some time ago Pepsi put out a special edition "vintage" soda made with real sugar.... funny thing is, I've actually gotten so used to HFCS in everything I actually prefer it over sugar.
Even our actual sugar is as fake as a three dollar bill.
Ah well... @#$% it. Everybody's gotta die someday. With any amount of luck I'll be long gone before the whole world derails.
I expect life to suck quite a bit by 2100.
Here's to HFCS! Best thing to happen to this blob of a population.
Besides, I already know how I go.

That's really not a good look. Too long, too drab. Who would wear that?

I’m not a fan. The white trainers and socks don’t help. Good to see Benetton doing this, but I’ll pass.
Re: Denim skirt from Benetton
It should be knee length with big belt loops and slash pockets

Re: Denim skirt from Benetton
Why do they make them so fussy? What's wrong with the average denim skirt such as of the kind women wear?

Re: Denim skirt from Benetton
Stu,
I really like the skirt you pictured. It is closer to a 'normal' look than
the over-priced drivel put out by Benetton. The green one you posted,
is more functional and has the looks of a nondescript garment.
Why can't someone take a pair of p*n'ts and copy them from the hips
up, with a nice A-Line skirt
Function and Freedom

Re: Denim skirt from Benetton
I think Benetton is trying too hard to make the skirt look suitable for men. Instead of a kilt-like design with pleats at the back and a wrapped front, they should have, as others have pointed out, considered a more normal and functional skirt, as already available for women and just offer that in men's sizes.
Re: Denim skirt from Benetton
I agree that they are trying too hard (and "they" being most of these companies).
I'm sure the thinking is that "it has to be different or men will think it's women's clothing" wherein they just really need to make it fit properly and be functional. Most of the cues about intended gender* come from embellishments, colors/patterns, and lack of pockets.
*(Obviously I personally don't care about intended gender, I wear what I want as long as it fits and I like it)

Re: Denim skirt from Benetton
Me too, FLB.
At £129 on the British site, still not terribly attractive.
They do describe it correctly as a skirt and not labelled it "kilt", but unless you search by name it doesn't appear as menswear.
Hardly intuitive if they want to sell skirts to men.
Watch the next round of discounting, I'll bet it's reduced.
Steve.
