Can't be simpler

Post by beachlion »

I noticed the collar of on of my T-shirts has worn down. I was about to elevate the shirt to rags for the workshop when I saw another possibility.

I cut off the top part just below the armpit. I made a tunnel for 1" elastic band, put in the band et voila, a new skirt was born. And a very summery one at that. The length is 35 cm (almost 13").

Looks very nice!! Since I don't sew I would have to learn a new skill and at this late date I don't think It would do me any good. :(

Only thing to beware about is the sheerness of the "T" shirt fabric.
Maybe not so much with a heavy beefy types.
It appears that is the case - sheerness is muted here.
Nice that the bottom hem extends out in a "A" frame so the bottom of
this skirt does not hug the posterior like a tight pencil skirt.

Excellent sew-man-ship and great photo images also !

So when are you going in the production mode of making more of these ? LOL !
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

The production as such is no problem. The real problem is finding a person who can wear down new T-shirts until they are fit for re-purposing. ;)

Very resourceful, beachlion. Can you get additional T-shirts in thrift stores?
