I do not believe that any of us here at the Skirt Cafe can even remotely be considered "little kids". One of the basic abilities expected of an adult is to be able to pick out clothes that at least fit right -- even if the semi-random sizing noise from the distaff side is very confusing.

There is no excuse for feeling "strangled" when wearing a tie. Full stop.

Being what I am, professionally I am expected to appear so for consultations, meetings &c. A collar and tie are mandatory. My neck size 16 (41 Eur) hasn't changed in half a Century and I have a more than adequate selection of ties to go with that, including bow ties for dress occasions & concerts.

For leisure activities I can dress down with the best of 'em.......Definitely no ties, but I'm not into beads or bangles at all.

The point is that those early experiences have left an enduring hatred.

"Grok" - you got that right !!!

Uncle Al should be familiar with the basic briefest minimal tie ever the string bow tie (bolero) something created out of a very bad "B" movie west of the Pecos !
But to this day there are people that still wear these things.

My preference to PUSHING THE BOUNDARIES of the DRESS CODE is the "Ascot" or "Cravat" aka neck scarf worn very loosely to feel only the whisper of
air passing the throat area !
Certainly won't pass muster in some camps or clubs but I am not paying any dues to such a restrictive society anyway. So bah hum bug and all that crap !
Since my last wish is to be cremated I don't need to wear anything to my funeral.

The Individual that started all this abomination needs to be hung by a Texas rope by his own creation - drawn and quartered by the court of the Spanish
Inquisition and if alive after all that drowned in the Salem witch tank or head removed (French quillotine) to prevent wearing a tie ever again !!!
The only place I have a use for a tie is a bow tie to go with the full dress Prince Charlie kilt outfit.
I do occasionally like to look nice ! ROFLOL !

So what was this about a necklace as a neck tie anyway ?

Necktie, bowtie, ascot, cravate, bolo tie.... The point is choice! Having options! :!:

I want the option of None Of The Above. No tie, no nothing around my neck except a(n unbuttoned) shirt collar.

Waiting on Uncle Al's source.

Also go on Ebay - SEARCH - Star Trek Jewelry some 800 items.
The Pendant and Ear Rings must be some combo special deal - did not find it ?

At least with Ebay one does not have to travel at warp speed to the Alpha Quadrant
to make a purchase with funny Klingon metal/plastic chip embedded currency !

May the farce be with you - live long enough to prosper and get over it !

Of course the question might be: "how much gold-plated latinum do the Ferengi traders want for those items?" :D

Came across a web site which suggested that one should wear only, at most, two lapel pins. One of which may be symbolic, but the other one must be purely decorative.

Which brings up a question-how does style apply to jewelry for men?

There are many sites concerning the what and how on men's jewelery. I do think that the situation is an indication for what is accepted. The beachside is totally different from what is accepted at the Oxford and Cambridge.
When wearing a coat and tie, a wristwatch is already something that might be a issue. In essence, nothing other than one's weddingband and ones family coat of armour. The US tradition of a college ring is not done in the old world. On the lapel only a small distiction received for bravery or so from the Queen of King. More only on special occasions. A chest full will be accepted in countries like N-Korea.
