The article does raise interesting points about tailoring and fit. However, it downplays the fact that even the "affordable" options and not all that affordable. Back in the day, I created clothing for myself that had the kinds of tailoring and fit that the article mentions. The results were awesome, but it takes a lot of time to get jackets and vests properly done. Skits can be a bist easier, depending on the style.
