Vacation sure agrees with you, that smile tells it all. Nice denim skirt and boots.

Thanks for the feedback! I enjoy this look very much! I work towards a look that expresses my enjoyment of adding skirts, tights and boots to my wardrobe. So far it feels great to be out in the public. Due to my work situation I have to be I hope by going out in the city dressed in my skirts help break the taboo of men in skirts. Some men have style, I like to believe I am one of them and we can explore fashion as women do. The more it is seen on the street the more accepted it becomes to see men dressed this way and this is my contribution to the cause. More and more is seen on the runways but not enough in stores.

When it comes to being the mainstream, businesses are made to make money and if there is a high enough demand on the street then they will sell the product. I can't speak for any members here on the café but my feelings is that the demand for the product has to be increased and seen on the street in order for the products(men's skirts and tights) and it's future lines to thrive. Large business models in production, distribution and retail needs to be accomplished and proof that the customers are there and how you market to them. Google trends show men's skirts are rising fast in popularity over the last 3 years.

There is a long way to go and hopefully more of the men who are fearful of wearing skirts in public find there way to find their freedom as I have and the demand will be noticed in the mainstream marketplace.

oops. Poor editing!! Due to my work situation I have to keep clear of being in those areas. I am in the lumber/wooden pallets industry and it just doesn't fit that environment.

Well, Utilikilts does sell a kilt aimed at carpenters and contractors, and apparently it is actually being used by some. (I know someone who has witnessed this in Seattle.) If you could do your job in shorts then a skirt should "fit that environment" too.

Thanks Daryl and understood. I am looking into Utilikilts for other purposes. The people at work are just not a bunch that I want to express my fashion preferences to since they have no fashion sense anyways. I am also on the management team and I am visiting customers on a regular basis at their locations, sometimes with all safety gear on. My boss is a kind man but to wear a skirt to a meeting with a major company is not something that would be supported and I accept that.

The positive feedback sure does assist as I move forward with getting out there, I only started last year. I have just started putting pics on Skirtcafe so I have had only a little bit of feedback from members so far and only a little from a few people who know me and have had non while on the street. I do catch myself wondering....do I look good, do I look like I can wear a skirt with style? I presume this is normal as my confidence grows.

Below is a skirt that I loved and lost.

Based on your photos, I'd say you're doing great!
