Im not sure about this.

Post by Knocker »

I have come across this forum accidently and I'm not sure if its at all healthy! I have read through various threads and it appears to me that this forum is run by introverted people who at the best ,through their inappropriate comments , would be better off seeking some kind of medical help.

:welcome:

No, we don't need medical help. We are here to support others
who wish to explore fashion freedom, and to promote skirts and
kilts for men as an everyday clothing choice. We are tired of
the sheep mentality that men do not have any choices
but - Trousers, Jeans and Shorts. Women won the right to wear
slacks/jeans/coveralls back in WWII when they went into the
factories supporting the war effort. Now, it is common place to
see women wearing (or not wearing ) just about anything they
want.

Men have forgotten that they once work skirted garments, either
Kilts, Caftans, Fustanellas to name a few. We're trying to bring
this 'style of clothing' back into the male wardrobe.

Before the 'trouser' movement took hold, men wore the flamboyant
clothing that is now associated with women. Now, men are stuck
in the dark, drab clothing that does not really make a man feel like
a man. Just some 'servant' of his job, working day-in and day-out
without any chance to express himself. Black pants, white shirt,
tie and jacket. How mundane is this :?: :?: :?: :?:

You may want to read the following article as it will help you to
understand what we're about.

A man's skirt will give you confidence

A new point of view is always welcome.

A little clarification please, Knocker! If you are condemning the whole membership as mentally unsound, then why did you take the trouble to join? Are you condemning Bob and the moderating team for perceived "heavy handedness? Moderating a forum is an often unpleasant task and, it is only a very tiny percentage of threads that get locked down for straying into forbidden territory. As moderator on another forum, I am lucky not to have had to do more than delete spam so far! At the moment I am withholding my welcome until I know we are not being branded as "weirdos".

I sort of wonder if you need medical help...

Since so much can be learned about this forum without joining, it would seem you joined just to ridicule the members and/or the idea of men wearing comfortable garments that are also medically healthful.

One post and it appears to be intended to stir up aggravation...

...can anyone else smell a troll?

Ian.

PS Uncle Al - It seems you are far more tolerant than I am. I applaud your patience and ability to suffer fools, but I'd have pressed the delete button by now.

Let's give the man a chance, and not dismiss him on the basis of one small post. He has joined, or at least made contact with, our community, but like most people out there it still a bit (or maybe very) sceptical. That's one small step for this site, but maybe a giant leap for our friend. Maybe he'll get round to putting a skirt on himself, and eventually wonder why it was ever such a big deal?

:troll:

I believe this post was but one of a large number posted by trolls recently, one missed by the mods. (Who, BTW, did a great job, and continue to do so!)

If I'm wrong about this, I apologize to the OP.

I had an attack over at S4M a few weeks ago of 97 people with similar opinions about MIS as Knockers has. Took me almost 3 hours to delete them all, one at a time, but it was worth it. Most spoke a combination of Russian and/or languages in the UAE. Most of their email addresses were in the UAE. (United Arab Emirates). Most were promoting hard core porn. Not all, but most.
I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

At risk of sounding like an utter bastard, this was the most benign post left from the recent "Alf Huckham" blast directed at SkirtCafe. The blast came from seven different registrants, and from six different IP (Internet Protocol) addresses (all of which, by the way, have been taken down in writing). I left this one in as a bit of a science experiment, primarily to see what sort of responses it would garner.

All in all, I'm impressed with the response. I'm particularly pleased that nobody hauled off and belted this clown in the virtual chops! This points up the quality of characters involved here. Those who responded, please feel free to take a bow.

However, since this was an overt trolling event, I'll draw the experiment to a close forthwith.

The cleanup from this problem wasn't easy, nor was it particularly graceful. I had to exercise some serious power and took the entire board offline for about 20 minutes as I mopped up the mess (I happened upon the "scene of the crime" as it was taking place and decided to stem the thing using maximal force). If anyone received a "board disabled" message, that's why. (Some of the "content" posted made even my somewhat jaded hair stand on end.)

SkirtCafe is running in an alternate mode for a while to keep a repeat from happening. This'll increase the workload on the admins, but will keep our customary S/N ratio somewhat high.

If anybody is offended by my leaving the initial post here intact, please feel to flame me via private messaging. Cogent flames will be happily responded to. Incoherent ones, per usual, will go to NULL:.
