Brilliant find. I love their music. Couldn't work out why all the comments were in French.... until I realised they are a French band

Given precisely how diverse a lot the bunch of us are, I suspect that we'd never agree on one.

I'd been tempted to propose the B52s Work That Skirt, but never did for the reason above. Of course I'm the clown who proposed to the Computer Systems Administration community the adoption of the humble yeast as our official mascot for the dual reasons that (1) it gets into places where it oughtn't and (2) the planet would be uninhabitable without it. (It was unceremoniously shot down, mainly by the small minority of female sysadmins. Some folks have no sense of humour.)

However, I do rather like the linked video.

Nothing wrong with that bearing in mind that many tons in Normandy and Brittany have their own tartans. Even near Orleans and in the Elzas one can find local tartans.

Carl, you could also argue also 3) the cells ( nodes ) seem to multiply geometrically [0].

[0] Typically between 20 and 30 daughter cells per lifecycle.

I just did a quick search and came up with the following:

Work That Skirt - B52's
Mini Skirts - John Lee Hooker
Short Skirt/Long Jacket - Cake
Lift Ya Skirt - Missy Elliott
Skirt ( demo ) - The Jam
Short Skirts - Baby Bash
Skirt On - YG
Slit Skirts - Pete Townsend
Pencil Skirt - Pulp
Skirts of Mexico - Chet Atkins

Any others?

Only the polyglots in the crowd might recognise that one. Polyglots are rare on the western side of the "Pond".

Sometimes the humour here is so .... unexpected and intellectual.

Shirley if we have an anthem it should be K.I.S.S.

Keep
It
Short
and Simple

None of the high breathless notes
Needless repetition of stanzas
Blown up screeching bag pipes not required
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

It took me a little bit to sort the thing out, but once I had I got a good chuckle out of it. Well done, Kirbstone.

The usage of "Rock" in the New World precludes the notion of it getting interpreted in the context of German because so few folks here know German. In these here parts it either means a form of music or physical stone (and the Rolling kind if the reader is very quick on the uptake).

There's also a beer (if one can really call it that) called "Rolling Rock" here; that has some potential bits of hilarity to it in a visual sense if one mixes tongues.

I always thought that K.I.S.S. was short for Keep It Simple Stupid.

Humour is always a very elusive state. Isaac Asimov wrote a short story called "Jokester" in which a character wonders where jokes come form and researches the topic to find that it is a gift from an alien race as a means to study humans. When this is discovered the sense of humour is removed. So let's not over-analyse things as I rather enjoy humour - it keeps me grounded and stops me taking myself too seriously. So keep it up guys.

Then you must have missed my humors introduction:

Shirley if we have an anthem it should be K.I.S.S.

From the Movie "Airplane" surely being replaced with Shirley - STOP CALLING ME SHIRLEY !
