Moon, having been to dentists, doctors and hospital in a skirt I'll tell you what reaction you will get - NOTHING. You will get treated just as normal. An anticlimax in other words.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.

I had no problems at any medical facility.
I started with my eye doctor .I sat in her waiting area talking with 3 women I was the only one in a skirt nothing said no problems

I have gone to my dentist no problem

I go to my primary doctor. One time i went in for tests I needed some chest and head exams i spent a hour going from station to station the only thing I had on was a skirt no problem

I have gone to the VA clinic twice no problem. Tuesday I have to go to the VA Hospital I am going to wear a skirt and I don't expect any problems

This dentist was a nut job that had problems running his office

As far as wearing a skirt or dress to doctors offices, I do it all of the time. On Monday i have an appointment with my eye doctor and will be wearing a skirt, on Thursday I have an appointment with my Cardiologist and yes I will be in a skirt.
I have been wearing skirts to all of my doctors and the VA clinic and the VA hospital. Never had a problem at any of them except at an ear, nose and throat docs office. Everyone was so nice until the doctor came in, he was one of those people that can be heard above the roar of a jet on take-off. He thought he was being funny but all he was being was a JACKA*S. I have not been back and the staff knows why. I did put him in his place though, much to the nurses amusement.

I went to my oncologist's office twice this week. On Monday to get a couple of short infusions (15 to 30 minutes each) leaving after being plugged into a portable pump for 46 hours. Back on Wednesday to be unplugged. The only comment was how my skirt went well with the paint color on both infusion room walls. The rooms are painted different colors and I wore a different skirt each time.

I know I wore my "kilt" the last time I visited my old dentist shortly before he retired at the end of July. I went back a couple of weeks later (I have a tooth with a crown that is giving me trouble from time to time) to talk to his old office partner that is taking over his patients. I can't remember if I wore a skirt that time (damn chemo brain :? ).

I have a CT scan scheduled in a couple of weeks. I think I will wear an elastic waist skirt. Much easier to maneuver when they drape the blanket over me and ask me to lower my pants to my knees. I'm getting an abdomen to pelvis scan. It will be interesting to see if the tech asks me to lower pants or skirt. :)

I agree. If anything, medical people are even more accepting then most. They're trained to concentrate on the medical condition and not on externals.
Courage, conviction, nerve, verve, dash, panache, guts, nuts, balls, gall, élan, stones, whatever. Get some and get skirted.

Same here.
Same here too. And my doctors, medical imaging appointments, lawyers, bankers and clients. None say anything but I seem to get the impression I am adding a little welcome variety to their days, at least.

With not a clue about why you were not welcome back?

Unless you created some kind of an incident while you were there, it's pretty sure that it was the kilt. He didn't say why for fear of you suing him for gender discrimination or something, and didn't want to even find out if there was a gender or sex thing going on at all. It's all a minefield for intolerant narrow-mind idjits these days so their only defence is to give you no ammunition. That they bothered to send it by UPS shows how desperately intolerant he is. Frak him.

Or to raise it. I have done this a few times. MUCH better than having to disrobe and wear those idiot medical "gowns".

Actually should be no need for any disrobing or other adjustments unless there is metal hardware somewhere in the mix.
Kilt straps and buckles kilt pin or other fastening devices - oh and least we forget the sporran with the world's wealth inside.
Other than that maybe just a minor adjustment to move the bulk (pleats) out of the way for comfort.

Recently had a melanoma removal operation followed up with a pet-scan - ct scan and MRI and just last week a ultra-sound
check of the operation area. All a big success.

All the follow-up checks done while (sportkilt-elastic waist-Velcro wrap) kilted - the biggie melanoma operation was with the backless gown.
Such a deal to remove a dime size cyst.

So far have not received any communication about not returning for the follow-ups or observance of a hospital dress code !

Are you sure the dentist wasn't a member of the Weinstein Clan sort of a Hatfields --- McCoy clan conflict ?
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

I guess I never followed up on this post. :)
My CTs are of the chest and abdomen/pelvis. I didn't have to lower the elastic waist skirt. I'm assuming the reason I had to lower pants was to get the button and zipper out of the pelvis area. The nurse who settled me on the table of the CT machine did comment on the skirt. She said something to the effect that she had to be careful to get the skirt properly spread out beneath me. The skirt is bottom of the knee length, so even though they put a wedge under the thighs to make laying down more comfortable, there is no danger of undesired exposure. That and the warm blanket they spread over you. That CT room is cold (brrrr). This hospital has boxes of 140F lightweight blankets scattered all over. I've been offered and accepted my share. :)

One funny thing: I must have been there when the staff was rotating to and from lunch. A different nurse unloaded me from the CT table. When he came in he said I could pull up my pants now. I didn't say anything as I took the blanket off and turned and stepped off in my skirt. 8)

Just got home from the dentist. Wore the outfit I have been wearing all day to run errands. No questions no problems I got one look from an aide when she escorted me into the room but other than that nothing.

Heh, I've had that too. Only convinces me even more that skirts are more fun. :)
