New ActiKilt

Post by allen476 »

Well that is what I am calling it.

It took me two weeks to make after I came up with a wicked idea for it when I saw the fabric. It cost me a whopping $11 in material and about 15 hours of labor. Some of my inspiration was Kirbstones denim skirt.

The material is the mesh sports type of fabric. I do have a set of pockets to put on it when I decide how I want to put them on. The apron was going to be sewn down but after a trial run it really does well as a modesty panel when sitting. There are 2 box pleats in the back.

When I make the next one, I am going to incorporate 3-4 pleats and slash pockets. Just have to find the material I want to use. Still trying to think how I can incorporate the buckles in somehow with out looking out of place.

Hi Allen,
That looks intriguing to say the least.
Help us out, model the thing and post something to pics and looks.
As for the name, google it and see what comes up. If you've got any commercial ideas for it, get it properly copyrighted unless somebody's been there already.
Good work.
Steve.
