Stump Town Kilts

Post by SkirtRevolution »

Another utility kilt company called Stump Town Kilt. These are great looking kilts. I am a little unsure of the front but all in all I like it and may have to get one.

I visited their website and my AVG anti-virus software kicked in and advised the
site was filled with viruses and other nasty things. So I got out of there ASAP.

Tried it just a moment ago and my Norton 360 advised Blocked - "Malicious Tool Kit Virus".
I did get the full web page but thought further that was as far as I wanted to go until it is virus free.

Yahoo Search Norton Malicious Tool Kit Virus - LINK:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index ... 950AACQO2S

From the page displayed looks like clones of a utility kilt.
Perhaps there is too much cloning of these utility kilt designs ?

I did a Google search for stumptownkilts.com last night and Norton Site search indicated that it was safe. I repeated the search a few minutes ago and got the same. Was there any particular page that seemed to scare AVG and Norton 360?
I went to the site last night and looked around. Did not have any problem, and none of the Norton scans I did since have shown up any problem.

Thought the product was expensive. I would not be buying one from that side of the Atlantic anyway due to transportation costs and taxes, and anyway I'm planning to make my own.

2nd time around worked - virus free.

Casual observation; my previous remark about kilt cloning seems to be true.

Looks like the 'Utilikilt' without a lot of buttons bells buzzers on the apron.
Nice setup for wearing a heavy duty 2.25 inch basket weave service belt.
I favor a plain jane apron and the belted closing.
The larger the belt the better and the shorter (19" hem) length is what does it for me.

I went into the site and there after my system collapsed, it took my computer man 11/2 hours to get the sysytem up and running again. Be careful I would suggest.

They appear to have fixed the viruses, and I visited their site and I must say I find their kilt design very attractive indeed.
What is less attractive is how a lot of their models wear them hipster style with the hem below the knee. This I personally find dowdy and spoils the appearance. From their sizing chart the hems should fall at or above the knee, assuming the waist is the waist.
Disappointingly though, towards the bottom of their info page they announce that they don't ship abroad (outside the US/Canada)
I have e-mailed their contact room suggesting they revise this, as it would expand their customer base considerably, I should think.

GOOD NEWS, I asked them if they can ship to Australia and they said they could, and also with the recent email from Kirbstone they have change their shipping and made the kilts available internationally with prices. I will be getting one for Christmas... Whoohoo!

Yes, StumptownKilts are run by a guy called Timmy Gallagher, who responded to my E-mail enquiry positively and invited some new material suggestions, so ere long I expect he'll offer a wider range of fabric options and deliver worldwide. I did say, however that his US$ 49.90 overseas delivery charge was a bit steep relative to other US garment suppliers. Maybe that'll come down, too.
Well done, Skirtrevolution. I wish you well with your new Stumptownkilt.

I tried to re-visit the site. My ZoneAlarm Firewall and AVG anti-virus programs
blocked me from the site. I almost had the Skull and Cross Bones displayed on
my screen. I'll pass on this site for now.

Following your experiences with that site I have today E-mailed Tim Gallagher, the proprietor explaining the matter, and suggesting that he get it seen to quickly, as it's damagng his business, for sure.

Hi Guys,
I've just had an E-mail from Tim Gallagher of the above firm saying that they have gotten rid of the attached viruses and the site is now clean,
so It should be OK to log in to it now.
