NATIONAL TARTAN DAY - APRIL 6 2010

Post by r.m.anderson »

FYI -

Always another excuse to wear the kilt (tartan)!

Just 2 weeks to go til it's "National Tartan Day" in the USA!

Tuesday April 6 is the day to wear/sport your tartan colors.

So you are not in the USA - well feel free to celebrate anyway.

It is a good excuse to get the tartan out of mothballs and strut

your stuff down to the place where you usually celebrate something

or other and this is as good enough reason as any!

"Kilt-On"
rm
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

Yes! And it's Tartan Week in New York City:
http://www.tartanweek.com/

"New York's Tartan Day Parade - April 10th, 2010

Join 2,000 pipers and drummers for the 12th Annual New York Tartan Day Parade – New York’s biggest celebration for pipers, drummers, Scottish music and single malt whisky - let the countdown begin! 2010 Grand Marshal will be Alex Fergusson, Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament."

That list sounded like an excellent reason to avoid the area until I got to the last item :D Sadly I'm too far away to take advantage of it.

I'm glad you clarified which Alex Fergusson you were referring to since the coach / manager of Manchesater United Football Club is far better known, at least in England. I had to go to the web to see who this namesake was :D (For anyone else who's wondering have a look here.)

Have fun,

Ian.
