"Streets of Barcelona": nice kilt!

Post by Juan »

Beautiful kilt spotted at the Bread & Butter Trade Show, published by "Streets of Barcelona" at Fashionfreax.net. From his public profile, one can guess that the poster is a young designer (or just another "fashion freak" like myself). Is this his self-portrait? I wonder.

Critical Critque:

In looking at an enlargement of the photo/image I noted the outer apron fringe is on the left side of the kilt.
I then thought maybe the image is in reverse; but then the Bread & Butter sign reads correctly.
Therefore this is a southpaws kilt or a kilted skirt.
Nothing wrong with that - afterall this is the skirtcafe and a skirt (or kilt) that is worn by a man is a kilt!
Just odd or unusual - reason I noticed it was the kilt appears to be worn somewhat off center with that apron
fringe left centered on the wearer.
Nice healthy colorful outfit. Would rather have the subject in kilt hose and low quarter footwear.
Another comment: Sign in English in Spanish city Barcelona with kilted subject in foreground.
Kilted subject must have been a representative from the UK?

"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

This pic is the only 'style' of skirt in the men's section.

Image

Not to bad, and it was designed by Ana Locking.

Not that unusual, I was in Barcelona for a week a month for the past couple of years and was nearly always kilted outside working hours. I got the occasional glance and lots of conversations I'd not have had otherwise, but never any negativity.

Have fun,

Ian.
