A regular feature called "He's So Original" will profile local men who are making "unique contributions to the community," and who don't mind being photographed wearing a skirt, said Doug Forshey, vice president of new products and market development for Media General Inc., which will publish the magazine locally. Media General is the parent company of the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

"We have got to go out and find someone secure enough in their masculinity that they will put on a skirt and be willing to be profiled," Forshey said.

The men-in-skirts feature started several years ago.

"In the beginning, it was hard to find men who would wear a skirt," Hardin said. "Now, we have waiting lists.""
