Running Skirt?
In the February 2007 copy of the magazine 'Runner's World' (page 53) I came across this ad for the San Diego Rock'n'roll marathon later this year. (see attachment). At first I did not believe the guy in the picture was wearing a skirt but looking closely, it has to be. Is this a running skirt? If so, looks good to me. Any one know where to get one like this. Then I can 'Be Original' too.

It certainly looks like a running skirt. I wouldn't mind some decent sporty-type skirts. Not for running though - for hiking - around the coast of the UK is great - you should come here and see! With a user name like yours, you'd love it.
I haven't looked in the sports shops and hiking shops of my town. I'll report back and let you know if I find anything.

Grrrrrrrrrr . . . on a Google search for: "hiking skirts men" - the stupid Google hamster comes back with . . "Did you mean: hiking shorts men"
Must calm down . . .

(F*ck only nose why they call it a kilt. It's a skirt. Get over it!)
Or these - Not much good for running though - IMO - but might be OK for hiking etc.

Looks like the next fashion craze to me. :sarcastic:

Yes, it seems to be a Runningkilt. I've seen a few of these in the Great North Run. Looks very comfotable on young athletes, but a bit too revealing for an old guy like me though. I ran the event in a lightweight black polycotton 24 inch length kilt last year. I don't think the Running kilt would be very practical for sitting on the train back to Newcastle after the end of the run.

I know this is an old post but since I haven' been around for a while, I am catching up on things.
My old avatar used to show me in a home-made running-kilt that I wore for the Big Sur Marathon a couple of years ago.
I contacted the guy who has the runningkilt site and used to sell them.
We exchanged emails and he basically gave me the directions on how to sew them.
Nice guy.
I'm a tall guy with pretty muscular thighs, so they rub together when I run.
I found that I chaffed more with the 'kilt' than just running shorts which have a bit of fabric between my legs.
Perhaps if I ran more in the kilt, I'd 'get over it'
btw, that was the year I also attempted to run the whole thing barefoot (ran it in mocassins the previous time... and finished).
I had a shirt made for the event that read:
front - No Shoes, No Shorts, No Problem! (playing to those signs in shop windows barring barefoot and barechested patrons)
back - Sure it's a skirt... and a manly one at that!
I got more comments on my being barefoot than wearing a skirt, although a couple of young gals I passed laughed and remarked about my 'manly skirt'.
oh, I did wear lightweight underwear underneath.

I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.
