Johnny Carson talks men in skirts

Post by photoguy207 »

Just came across this on YouTube. I haven’t seen this here or anywhere before. Not sure when it’s from. I’m guessing early to mid 80s.

Johnny Carson has a male guest on who makes and wears skirts.

I'm impressed on how tasteful this interview was for that era. The guest was straightforward and did not appear to sensationalize the event. Johnny, always the consummate professional, took the high road by taking the guest seriously, and not looking to humiliate him or make obvious low-brow jokes.

The clip is from 1982 and is the second presentation of David Hall that I've seen.
He was on The Donahue Show and Phil wore a skirt(one of David's creations) on
the show. I haven't found any more information about David Hall.

David makes sensible arguments for men wearing skirts. Not sure I'ld wear any
of his designs, IF I could find them ;)

I was not enthused by the clip presenter nor the adverts, by the presenter, in the clip.
But - each to their own........... :alien:

David Hall's appearance on Donohue was covered on another thread.

Hi Al
I don't know if you have seen this before?
https://xuitlacoche.blogspot.com/2010/0 ... r-men.html.
It shows a bit of his view of life and a little biography too.
There doesn't appear to be much current information, I wonder if he is a cafe patron?
I don't reckon David Hall ever designed a skirt, he just adopted them.
For it's time that is a fairly equal handed interview but I can't say I'm very familiar with Carson's show.
Steve.
