This just in:

7:09 pm ET Women's clothing chain Dressbarn to close all its 650 stores

NEW YORK (AP) — Dressbarn, the women's clothing chain that's been around for nearly 60 years, is closing all 650 of its stores. The company's chief financial officer, Steven Taylor, said Dressbarn has not been operating at an "acceptable level of profitability in today's retail environment." Its owner, Ascena Retail Group Inc., says it wants to focus on its more profitable brands. Ascena also owns Ann Taylor, Lane Bryant and other clothing stores. The company did not say when Dressbarn will shut all its stores.

So wait awhile to get that bargain dress - but sadly another source of unbifurcated wear is passing.

Aw, Hell. Two of my favourite skirts came from there.

Sadly, their on-line presence was a big disappointment, and that might have been one of the reasons for the upcoming demise. It would have been very useful to see what was on offer...

Well that stinks, though I admit I've never made a purchase there. I do have some "Dress Barn" branded skirts in my closet though I got from the GoodWill.

It seems so many stores are closing. All that's gonna be left is Walmart. They don't have much selections as it is.

The trend is online ordering ah er take me back 55 years to Sears catalog ordering.
What goes around comes around.
But will the sizing be correct (My size) ?
Will I like the color (CRT monitor) shades excepted ?
I know I can pay more for absolutely positively needed overnight !

Now as for returns - what part of free is not fully understood ?

And getting back to this Sears thing putting a good business out of business
because of changing times trends - all the big names are suffering !

Que Sera Sera - - - Stupid is what stupid does !

The failure to quickly adapt and embrace the online shopping phenomenon also hastened the demise of Sears. And Sears had the financial resources to build a phenomenal website. But apparently the upper level management just didn’t take seriously the power of the internet.
