Yonkas,
I certainly had never seen this article before and it rings perfectly true.
The problem is that the cissie/tomboy attitudes have been so deeply embedded into our thinking.
Biily Porter's dress would not have made the headlines otherwise but it is a step forward too.
The only other thing is to teach our kids. male and female to demolish all these barriers.
Steve.

Yonkas, I had never seen the article before either. As I look back on my life I realise that I was never the macho male but didn't look upon girls as inferior, just different. I envied them a lot of things but never made the quantum leap of asking why I couldn't have them as well. They belonged to girls and as much as I would have liked them they were not available to me. What were these things? Clothes for one, other accessories such as bracelets, necklaces and so on. But it was drilled into me that girls things and boys things just didn't mix. Of course I realise now that this was unconscious conditioning and it has taken me years and years to slowly unpick it all. Still not finished, I still have some hangups so is a work in progress. So a lot of the article resonated strongly. Good article.
