Well, the comments (thus far) are about of the quality one would expect, and the advert for "gender neutral clothes" shows a kid of unknown gender dressed in sweats. I'd not call this much of a win.

OK, so the guy stated an opinion. Opinions are subject to change. If the purported change occurred after a session of hanging out with the kid, and is genuine, then good. Even if not, it remains just that -- an opinion. Not all opinions are popular, and not all opinions need to be agreed with. Such is life.

Just a little boy playin' around, eh?

I give his parents a lot of credit.

Wonderful that public opinion favored the boy and forced the apology, though.

Yep, I completely agree. I thought he was even more out of order given that it was not even his own kid. It does look like there is a general shift in public acceptance, even if it's only towards children doing their own thing. However, it should mean that these children grow up more tolerant, which surely can only be a good thing.

He's entitled to his opinion but to try and shame the kid AND post it for all the world to see is wrong.
My own opinion is that apart from the apology Lewis should pay a forfeit .

Hmm, would appearing in a Princess dress be appropriate ?

Factually speaking, he wasn't wrong. As a rule, boys don't wear princess dresses - or any other kinds of dresses.

Why don't boys wear princess dresses? Because parents discourage boys from taking part in fantasy play where they adopt a female persona, even though it's entirely natural, and it's fine for a girl to be Spiderman.

Why don't boys wear dresses and skirts generally? Because it's not fashionable - simple as that.

Should society open up fashion so males can enjoy greater ranges of garments? Most certainly!

Well.. the remark was made "boys don't wear dresses", that is simply an error, thus an apology is warranted. It's like saying 4+4=10.

You see, the fact is, boys do wear dresses... hence the boy of the subject matter and his dress to which his has clad himself with. Therefore by applying simple observation, it can be concluded that yes, it seems boys do wear dresses after all.

The opinion should have been stated "boy's shouldn't wear dresses". That would be an opinion. So this brings us to the question, should he apologize for that?

The answer really depends on who's signing his paycheck.

But really, the matter of apologizing for opinions is in itself an opinion, to which, there are plenty of those to go around.

As far as my opinion? My opinion is that my opinion is about worthless of this matter, and other's opinions really do not matter much to me...

Or do all opinions matter? Well now that is a question... But can it's answer be based on fact? Or opinion?

Lets ask facebook.

:D

Note: Remove pi from "opinion" and you get "onion". And opinions, like onions have one thing in common, when people put too many of them in the mouth at the same time, it makes their breath smell really bad....
