Perhaps some of them will come to realise that wearing a skirt is no big deal and wear one more and more.
The more men seen wearing a skirt, the more will hopefully follow.

While there is nothing wrong with such displays, if they really want to empathize with women or with the Trans- or gay communities, perhaps they should wear the clothing for a year, and not just an hour. Not to prejudge motives, but sometimes these demonstrations seem more like guiltless crossdressing parties for college boys than meaningful action.

From the facebook page for that event, I found this page announcing what appears to be an event to support men being able to enjoy wearing skirts.
https://www.facebook.com/events/156479491390237/

I base this on the google translation of the title and the explanation on the page. Google translation of title is "Men who are also at liberty to wear a skirt".

The explanation says, "Would you as a man in the Netherlands that you can wear a skirt in freedom when the weather is nice, and you warm trousers and shorts but must continue even in the closet. Let us know if you will, for how often we see a man in skirt in the street how normal we will find it. Women are indeed so also started wearing pants."

And I now see a link to a Dutch forum topic that seems related to this event at the website http://www.rokvoormannen.nl that is also on the "Men in Skirts" link page, so I'll say no more. Anyone interested can look it up themselves.

Some of those skirts look quite comfy! There was a guy in a nice looking grey pencil mini that looked fairly practical for everyday. Regular mens colours (sadly greys, navy, black) aren't bad. Men just have to get used to crossing their legs or keeping knees together when they sit... and dark briefs

I am not sure if it is helpful for us with men wearing skirts for a cause, the fact that it is making a stand means that it is not considered normal behaviour. Granted there are probably some consolations; most on the video look rather smart, some would discover the enjoyment of wearing a skirt and some having an excuse to go public for the first time. It would be great if causes were continued until there was no more sex attacks, global warming or gun crime. A lot of men would be wearing mini skirts all the time, for far into the future.
No surprise if men wearing skirts became widely accepted in Holland as the Dutch are often ahead on social change.

I agree. As a protest or symbol of support it seems dubious to me. Clothing is a choice, unlike sex, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity. In some ways, college boys leaping around in miniskirts seems more like stereotyping than support. You don't have to look around far to see that women are hardly forced into miniskirts and high heels. The sexual assaults in Germany were terrible, but a better approach would be for the boys to organize to patrol and escort women for their safety. Im not even sure what those kids thought they were symbolizing.

The more the general population sees men in skirts - regardless of the reason - the less shocking such a sight will be for them.
Courage, conviction, nerve, verve, dash, panache, guts, nuts, balls, gall, élan, stones, whatever. Get some and get skirted.

I guess I was more concerned with the women who were attacked in Cologne than with how it would benefit me...

It's in the news again: https://www.rt.com/shows/in-the-now-sum ... en-skirts/

This time, 20 seconds of footage (at time 15:18) is used to introduce a 10-minute talk about the alleged "feminisation" of European men. Not very complimentary (and I hope the video's title refers to something else).

No, it is the mouthpiece of the Russian Government! Putin's political views would be hard to distinguish from those of whom regularly appear on Fox News.

I hope the video title refers to how quickly Facebook was being taken away from users in the Middle East (poof and it's gone) rather than anything else. At least the men in skirts were filmed, just being men and not acting feminine as is usually the accusation  some of the bodycon stuff left little to the imagination  but most of the skirts would be something I could see a lot of guys wear in future :)
