How to buy a skirt

Post by janrok »

If you are reluctant to enter a shop and try on a skirt here is an example how to do it.
This was a news-item on Dutch television recently and of course it is Dutch spoken but the video speaks for itself.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmTr6aUOMVw

This shows how trendy Holland is...........

Jan.

A concise translation of what the reporter says:
"Women wear pants so men should be able to wear skirts"
Next he says he could not find a skirt at H&M's and enters another store (Zara) asking the managers if mens skirts could become a trend next summer.
They don't think it will. But the reporter doesn't take no for an answer and buys a skirt.

Jan -

Great Link and thanks for the translation :!:

I did notice that it was originally posted on 'YouTube'
March 15, 2010 so it's not too new, but I would like
to see a 'follow-up' article from the same reporter ;)
(with English translation) to know if he ever wore the
skirt "Out-n-About" and what reaction he had/received
when he wore it :D

I guess it was a news-item in response to the numerous catwalk-shows showing mens skirts.
Many fashion guru's M/F want men to start wearing skirts, Gaultier and Yamamoto to be the first since 20 years or so.
But last few years men skirts have been a hot item in Fashionland. For those who are interested, here's a summary of catwalk-shows:
Agnes B 2007-2008
Gaultier 2005-2006-2007-2008-2010
V.Rom (?) 2006
Dries van Noten 2005
Ralf Simons 2008
Vivien Westwood 2007-2008-2009-2010
Comme des Garcons 2009
Rick Owens 2010
Last but not least Givenchy 2011-2012.
Pics of these catwalk shows can all be seen in our photo-gallery. (Our = Dutch forum.)
There are many less established fashion designers with the same good ideas. The picture above is from an unknown designer. But for the white sandals it looks pretty good!
