Internal Server Error

Post by Coder »

I'm trying to reply to a thread and am getting an internal server error. Just posting here to see if it's anywhere on the forum or just my post...

It must be something else as I can see your post.... :ugeek:

Don't ya just love it ?
When it comes time to demonstrate the glitch problem error -
Ya can't duplicate the problem -

Darn computers can't live with them and can't live without them !

Suggestion when all else fails - - -

Pull the plug - turn off the power completely - then give the
computer a firm cold boot - restore the power and see if the
problem still exists -
Still a problem well don't be trying to do that again thinking
that the 99th time will be the charm -

And avoid unsolicited advice from people like me ! LOL !
I've got Mickey Mouse mops & buckets in the Sorcerers Apprentice
from Fantasia.

Waiting for the Master Wizard (crfriend) response !

Now hoping humor will solve the problem on its own accord.
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

I'll send crfriend a PM... although the problem has cleared itself up. Usually, though, when these things happen there's a problem in the logic in the backend where something needs to be done (or the conditions need to change) to fix the issue. For instance, new2skirts replied to my post, which may have fixed whatever issue was causing the problem when I tried to reply.

I felt kind of silly starting this thread, but didn't have any good replies for any of the threads already out there so posted, curious to see if it worked (and it did).

Transient errors are, unfortunately, a part and parcel of our modern existence. I'd not have wanted to see one on a manned space-flight, but these need to be taken into account and that's why one has small "committees" of computers voting on life-safety things. The Skirt Cafe, no matter how we may regard it, is not a "life-safety critical" application. It can be a source of frustration, yes, but not one of outright death (unless one has underlying conditions, of course).

Everything now, however, seems fine.

Being an engineer at heart I detest intermittent problems in computers, but it's worth recalling that most everything today runs on Intel hardware with unpredictable instruction dispatch and scheduling, so the occasional hardware gaffe now needs to be tolerated. Then there's the quality of the software which gets worse by the microsecond. I'm rather glad to be close to my "best used by date" so I don't have to deal with the fallout much longer.

There was a very erudite and learned bloke, Clement Freud whose television and radio contributions amused the (UK) Nation and many more besides. In a Radio interview he was asked what he would like to see inscribed on his gravestone. His reply : 'The name, the date and 'Best Before!'
