(Another) Software update coming

Post by crfriend »

It's that time again, the phpBB folks have released an update to the software that runs the Skirt Café and it's time to apply the patches.

As always, I prototyped the update on a running replica of Skirt Café that I keep in my lab at home and it went without a hitch.

Currently I'm aiming at about 20:00 GMT to make the change on the real system. Film, as they say, at eleven. I am not anticipating any difficulties, but there may be a very slight bump if anybody's online when I apply it.

The change went in a little early -- at about 19:45 UTC. If there are any problems, please let me know!

It might just be the time of day, ( less busy? ) but at the moment, the only change I see, is that the site is responding much faster.

Everything seems to be working OK, but I do see the message
  • Fatal: Not able to open ./cache/data_global.php
at the bottom of most pages.

I missed that one. It turns out that it was stale permissions left over from yesterday and should be fixed now.
