thought some guys might want to see this, others attack it, and others hack it to bits in detail. whatever!

but it confirms that the agreed view of men's fashion has been years of "stifling conservatism" and also that men are changing. maybe a new generation has grown up without some of the mental walls of before, or there is a general springtime in men's fashion. whatever the case, it's an interesting article! cut and paste away!!

And 'men's eye makeup (another Gaultier invention)' weren't the Egyptians doing that 3000 years ago?

Yesssssssssss, AND the men then were ALL wearing skirts and other skirted garments. And Tiaras and lots of personal jewelry and mostly all the same things most men and women today don't WANT US to wear. :whiteflag :stir:

I had painted my toenails for years before this article, do so even more now. Shiny black as I type....

I used to wear nail polish when I was younger and in college. I haven't done it since I have joined the corporate world.

I've painted finger & toenails off and on for years, mostly for my own amusement. I do have brittle nails, so I will occassionally apply a hardner to them. I used to have a nice matte finish, but now only have a clear gloss for the fingernails.

Old, yellow, bunged up toenails tend to bother me, make me feel like a real old fart and polish helps keep me in denial. A few weeks ago, I was at home with my "incandesent pink", a pearlized fleshy pink color, toenails when I received a call from work that they couldn't get the overhead doors down at the store, so off I set w/o a thought in my sandals. There I was, standing on a ladder w/my feet at eye-level to my boss and two other co-workers when I realized what they probably couldn't help seeing. No one ever said a word.

Toenails are OK, as they're not always visible. Got mine done to match my light denim skirts when in sandals/slides. So far no comments either way.

It's really because no one cares. Really. The most reaction you will likely get is a double-take, simply due to the incongruity of it.

I have to say, of all the things that really do not matter, painted toenails are certainly one of my favorites.
