Sadly, that cuts both ways. The only difference between "our" Taleban and "their" Taleban is that ours (the US, that is) wear ties. Fundamentalist nuts are fundamentalist nuts; it matters not one whit whether they tighten to the right or the left. Haven't looked at the link above, but I did see a CNN report recently about Gender Reassignment Surgery in Iran.
Apparantly, the state helps pay for some of the surgery cost.
They mentioned in the story that even the Aytollah Kohmeini[sic?] said that there was nothing in the Koran against a person changing their sexual identity.
I don't see that playing well with Christianity.
How about Judaism?
