St Patrick's Day greeting from the Ould Sod

Post by Kirbstone »

Hi Guys,

The Big Day here has not yet dawned, but the birds are singing already. Post-Covid parades are planned for everywhere, which will be a great release after two blank years.

No doubt there'll be another surge in cases, but the community are prepared to live with that, now practically everyone has been multiple-jabbed.

I'll be raising a glass of the Black Stuff to you all, anyway.

Fortunately we got a nanosecond of Sunshine today and my St Patrick's Day parade was a lot of dog-walking as our helper gentleman in this department had the Holiday off.

I don't drag a camera & tripod out the moors with me, so the same ol' greenhouse must stand in once again as background. (Jeff 1959 would understand). Green kilt is a hybrid, with Anderson tartan in the reveals. I have matching flashes on as well, but they don't show. Minnie the dog is obviously camera-shy.

The pint o' the black stuff came much later, after a stunning ballet & tap dance show in which a granddaughter shone. Certainly worth celebrating.

Tom, are you the one on the left, right or middle on the stage?

MB,
Taken last April, We have a lot of double cherry blossom trees lining our 150 yd. bendy drive, which in 20-odd years have had to be cut back a bit to allow oil lorries &c.to get up the drive to deliver. Skirt is 23" flared faux leather, no pockets, a pinstripe skirt-suit jacket from Ravi-Tailor (Thailand), Hat, belt & shoes from Dunnes Stores, Shades are just photochromic prescription specs without which my Day doesn't begin. Smile is ancient and contrived.

Dennis, None of those positions. I was in row H10 with doting parents, camera in hand. G'daughter (just 10) is at Right. That number, Gerschwin's 'A foggy Day in London Town' features in my memory bank and I thumped the ol' Bechstein while she pranced about the wooden Drawing Room floor, so she wasn't exactly short of practice!
