Re: Have a Laugh
Never heard of the 99 flake before, but it looks delicious! I'm in the USA, of course, and we don't get all the goodies you get across the pond. I haven't been across every state, and it probably exists somewhere here.
However, being intolerant of lactose, I have to do with almond or coconut soft serve (one local place has a rotating cast of flavors). I've tried pills but they don't solve the queasiness and reflux from a scoop of real ice cream. Sigh. The good news is the coconut soft serve is nearly as good as traditional soft serve, so I don't miss it quite as much but still...

Re: Have a Laugh
If you think a 99 is chocolate or a Mr Whippy is ice cream, I respectfully direct you to Roberto's Authentic Italian Gelato at 3 Goodramgate in York. It is life-changing, and they win awards for it. And they weren't at all bothered by my skirt

Re: Have a Laugh
geron, I always thought that Mr Whippy was the vendor, I presume a franchisee driving a suitably decorated ice cream van [0]. The "99" is the combination of the ice cream, cone and the flake. As for the establishment mentioned, I very rarely go into the town centre but I shall make the effort to go in there and soon and have an ice cream of some sort whether it be a "99" a Knickerbocker Glory or something else. Thank you.
[0] I have since found that it's a generic term for the soft ice cream cone. There was no recognised franchise but the name was used by several. I believe the name "Mr Whippy" is owned by Walls which would make sense and is probably the reason why I haven't seen a Mr Whippy van for years.

I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.
