It's interesting that incidences of flu have virtually vanished. The normal expected surge during this past winter just hasn't happened. This health professional site A variant is a different version of a v ... t unusual. reported zero cases this year ( to 14 February ). I know that there was a comprehensive flu immunisation push last year so maybe that just goes to prove that these vaccinations do work.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.

"...that just goes to prove that these vaccinations do work."

That is one theory, but it doesn't take into account the wearing of masks,
social distancing, working from home, and all the other protocols that
have been in place to mitigate the spread of Covid-19.

Here in Wisconsin, one person with the Flu (not Covid-19) was hospitalized.
It made the news only because it was the only hospitalization for the Flu.

Anyone care to speculate as to whether Covid-19 protocols might become
the standard for fighting annual outbreaks of the flu in the future? It could
be a whole new approach to an age old problem.

We use the easy pickup option. We both also wear a mask everywhere we go. It is truly a mystery as to where it was picked up.
It's worth noting that the mask isn't primarily geared to help you but rather those around you if you happen to have the virus and aren't (yet) symptomatic. The intent is to diffuse and attempt to capture the exhaled virus (which is still wet from being inside) with the moisture in breath effectively condensing in the mask. As far as the size of the viral particles themselves, they're so tiny that if dry a mask is effectively transparent to them, sort of like it being possible to fly a small 'plane through the Grand Canyon. So, wearing a mask is an altruistic move, and we'd all be better off if more folks did it.

Airborne infection isn't the only route, contaminated surfaces are just as dangerous.  If you've handled the post or groceries soon after they were delivered, opened a door or a gate, operated a petrol pump, tapped your P.I.N. onto a terminal or accepted notes or coins, you could have caught it in any of those ways.
There is no such thing as a normal person, only someone you don't know very well yet.

Bossche comes across well in his videos but he is a crack pot. Before you start believing Bossche watch this video. ZdoggMD has done a lot of research on Covid. I trust ZdoggMD's credentials and research more than anyone else. He is not afraid to tell you when something is not right.

with all respect, if I have to chose between an internist making youtube video's after having had a burnout and someone specialised on vaccins especcialy as vaccins are generally tested first on animals prior for being tested on humans, you can guess whom's thought I find more valid. Ofcourse an internist knows aalso about the working of T-cells etc. as e.g. the auto immuun system is also a part of their job. Zdogg only came in after the auto immuun system went astray, while Vanden Bossche was in the field of letting the T-cells do their job first before using a modified RNA instead of non modified RNA vaccin. The major problem with the natural antibodies one can find after someone has contracted Covid, is that they will remain only during a short period in the body (20 months or so) which might mean you have to get a shot on yearly basis.
Earlier today I received information as that ones bloodtype might be of influence also, those with bloodtype O wouldn't be able if they are in good health further to contract covid.

@ Sinned, great that you tried to do the research for me but sorry it's not the article I have in mind. This (https://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/ ... index.html) does give an indication.

Indeed many times it has been noted that there are hardly any flu cases at present. Looking at countries in the Far and Near East (Japan, Singapore, etc.) where it's mandatory to wear masks the very moment one has a cold one could wonder why such regulations haven't been implemented in the Western world earlier.

Virii are very simple things, so mutations are absolutely normal and expected. So long as the same basic cross-section holds the vaccines should be effective enough to attenuate it significantly in the wild.

Both (Belgium and Brittany) are a-typical.

In what ways that cannot be explained by natural processes?

The in Brittany couldn't be found in the "normal fashion", the Belgian one was also not the normal one, but related to the S-African one, but contained more nucleotides.

The current pandemic is caused by a coronavirus named SARS-CoV-2. It causes a disease named COVID-19. There are more than 500 known coronaviruses, but only eight of them are known to infect humans: four cause 15% to 20% of common colds (most colds are caused by rhinoviruses), two caused severe lung disease but seemed to have disappeared, another one caused common cold but have disappeared and there is this new eighth one. Which coud disappear. Or stay. Spanish flu disappeared after two years (but is was not caused by a coronavirus), but the plague endured during centuries and came back every few decades...

Quite so. But for the avoidance of distress to those who once had to learn this stuff... the Latin plural of virus is, er -- virūs (a fourth declension noun). So in English it becomes viruses, in the ordinary way ;-)
