Frankly, I don't get it. With on average, clear skies on only one in every nine days throughout the year, Sunblock isn't something that's in everyday use here.
Pubs on the other hand are (or pre-Covid, were) the local peoples' parliament. World affairs were settled throughout the land over a pint or two.
A military friend who had just returned from a 6-month tour of duty in (then) war-torn Kosovo joined us in a local pub after singing at a pre Christmas carol service.
The publican put a pint of the Black Stuff on the table before him and he took his first draught, set the glass down on the table and said: 'Now if they had That in Kosovo, there'd be No War!'
