Are older cars safer?

I think safety really depends more on the nut behind the wheel.

Someone has to disagree.

You can be the safest driver in the world and bad things can still happen to you.

A man who never drank alcohol and his wife were killed by a drunk driver running
a red light. Being sober and driving safely didn't help either of them one little bit.

It only takes one nut behind the wheel to cause bad things to happen - and all too
often - that is exactly the case.

Of course, but the more attentive and careful you are, the better your odds. Ditto having a safer car.

I believe the term back in high school driver's education class was -
"defensive driving". Golly, that was over fifty-five years ago. I guess
there are some things that I learned in high school that were actually
useful!
