Carl said: Absolutely, and I'm not denying that. However, it's useful to know that slightly more than 1/2 half the population disagrees with the current situation.
C'mon Carl, you're ignoring OS1's point! I hate Trump as much as anyone; but, because of that I try -- admittedly, not always successfully -- to disagree without being disagreeable. More to the point, when someone indicates I've hurt their feelings by making it unnecessarily personal or rough, I
APOLOGIZE!
Is that really asking too much of you?
Carl said:Some of my smarter friends are actively talking revolution. I've been trying to talk them down because those have a habit of ending badly.
Now, you see Carl, there you go again! Totally ignoring the special talents of your fellow countrymen. While other nations, including such a well-developed, highly educated and erudite country as France, can't figure out Revolutions, I'd say we did pretty well with the one we started in 1775 against what was then one of the world's super-powers.
I'll just bet, if we could do it once, we could do it again.
Oh wait, those same 18th-century, violent revolutionaries institutionalized that process of revolution. Every 4 years we get to completely overturn our government without firing a single shot! It's called a Presidential election when we not only get to choose to keep or replace our current President, but also the whole House of Representatives, 1/3 of the Senate, a number of state Governors and many state legislators and state senators. In many states you also get to vote on judges, mayors, city councilmen and all kinds of other officials you didn't even know were put up for a vote until you looked closely at your ballot.
Wow! Now there's a rare opportunity!
Don't squander it by voting for a 3rd party candidate; no one takes those votes terribly seriously. Even if they did, this is no time to send a message; the stakes are too high for that. Instead, take a stand; vote for either Donald Trump (What we've been getting the last 3 1/2 years.) or Joe Biden (A change. One I feel will be for the better. And Fred, Joe Biden is not a Socialist or even a socialist. Can't you Republicans come up with a new counter-argument to us Democrats that at least is factual?).
