We lucked out at our home. Heavy rain with marble sized hail. Scared the critters.
It lasted about 15-20 minutes then quit. The second wave of rain & high winds,
came through around 01:00. We did not have any property damage, but will check
outside once the sun comes up. Our lights 'blipped' but stayed on. Reports state
approximately 168,000 customers are without electricity in Dallas County.

The entire town of Midlothian, TX, which is about 20 miles south of us, is without electricity.
These storms are headed east. The line extends from southwest of Houston up
to west central Indiana. A major storm is south of Houston, out in the Gulf. It is headed
for New Orleans. I expect major flooding in southern Louisiana.

I'll post more info as the day goes on. The main thing is my wife & I are safe.
I don't know about my son & his family. They live in the southern part of Wylie, TX.
His area was on the northern edge of the storms path.

On cell phone now, will try to go back to bed.

As of this time, NO FATALITIES from the storms :!: :D

I think JohnH is OK as he lives in Irving, TX. Irving is about 20 miles
west of where the EF-3 tornado started. PhatHack hasn't posted in quite
awhile, but he should be OK, too.

WARNING :!: This is a dangerous line of storms moving east.
If you are in or near these storms, take shelter as soon as the
warnings are issued. The quick action of our weather people,
helped save lives. If you have a root cellar or storm cellar, be sure
you have provisions(fresh batteries, flashlights & portable radios),
along with some bottled water.

Remember - "Things" can be replaced, "You" can't :!:

Thanks. They aren’t calling for high winds here, and I will be on my way to the farm. I bought an equipment trailer and will spend Wednesday in the dump truck picking it up. Hopefully I can haul my CTL to the farm and make use of it on Thursday. I spent $300 on chains and tensioners to tie the machine down. Friday I have business in the county tax office getting the agricultural use exemption straightened out. Saturday I will go to inspect a tractor I’d like to buy, then perhaps to look at a chestnut orchard.

Here in Irving we did not even get the emergency sirens. Last night and early into the morning there was nothing unusual. The power didn't even flicker. Everything in the Dallas-Fort Worth is really spread out.
