If the mom cooks well, why not say "Thanks!"

My mom was an artist in the kitchen with everything from cakes to candy and cookies (biscuits for those of you in the UK). Around the Christmas holidays she would spend all day over the oven baking cakes and cookies then decorating them for the holidays so that anyone coming over had some fantastic sweets to take home with them.
And yes I ate some of the best sweets in my life. I also got to eat all of mistakes too.

The guy who awkwardly stops chewing a mouthful of food at family get togethers when someone says "friends let's bow our heads for a moment of prayer....."

I am that guy (quietly trying to swallow whilst reaching for a beverage)

When I cook, a little praying from my wife could be in place. Partly for not burning the house down and partly to get some edible results. For me as an atheist, I'm not sure if it will have any influence on the end results.
