Science Fiction is now Science Fact

Post by Uncle Al »

Star Trek spawned the Cell Phone, Sliding doors on buildings
Medical equipment improvements and miniaturization, along
with a host of other 'things'.

Now, remember the Star Trek Movie "The Voyage Home" a.k.a. Star Trek IV :?:
in the movie, Scotty was asking about TRANSPARENT ALUMINUM.
We thought that was impossible, right :?:

Well Guess again folks - - it's FACT :!:
Transparent Aluminum

I knew it was just a matter of time before it would happen. As with many of the Star-Trek wonders it too will become an everyday thing. What is the next item from the shows many gadgets will become real?? :alien:

Aluminum?
When I was at school in the 1960s, our chemistry teacher started talking about aloominum. We all thought it was some sort of new metal as we'd never heard of it ... until he realised what he was saying and explained he meant aluminium. He was English but had been teaching in the USA before coming to us.

See, they don't just have problems with metrics, they also have problems with the metals they use their strange units on.
