Best wishes from me too - You'll feel better for it!

Good luck, Ron! It'll be tough, but the benefits will outweigh the difficulty in the long run.

Smart move. But does not buying cigarettes mean you'll mooch them?

I remember a co-worker who quit, and also cut back drastically on his coffee at about the time I left the company. When I went back a year later, completely different person, Looked neater, calmer, relaxed, looked very professional, had been promoted...

There are going to be lots of mental, physical, digestive, changes. There are lots of ways to help get over them out there. Don't hesitate to ask your doctor about them. Look up your local resources.

Good for you. It isn't as hard as they hype would have you believe. If you are truly ready to quit, you will. The wife and I were mentally ready and quit in September of '09. We found it easy and wished we had quit years earlier.

After watching lung cancer claim my first cousin's amazing wife, and then a dozen years later, claim him as well, I will applaud your decision. Any support you need, your friends here will give. Whenever you feel that jones kicking in, just sit down here and post, and take your mind off it.

I gave up soda. It wasn't as hard as I expected. I still have iced tea, but now sugar-free, and decaffeinated.
