September 8, 2010 - Donorbridge Day

Post by Uncle Al »

SEPTEMBER 8, 2010 - Donorbridge Day

A very important date for those of us that have a passion for the theatre organ.
On this date and this date ONLY, The Communities Foundation of Texas, The
Dallas Foundation, The Meadows Foundation and several other North Texas
Foundations, under the umbrella of DONORBRIDGE, are making proportional
matching grants that will benefit the NORTH TEXAS CHAPTER. All funds donated
on Wednesday September 8th will be forwarded to the NTC-ATOS (a qualifying IRS
non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation) along with the DonorBridge proportional
matching grants. Donors will immediately receive a tax deduction receipt via
e-mail from the Communities Foundation of Texas for the full donation
amount. With the current DonorBridge rules, donations under $25, although
gratefully accepted, will not be eligible for the matching grants.

To be a part of this fantastic program by DonorBridge and to support and
to further the theatre organ activities of the North Texas Chapter, your donation
can be made by going to the computer and giving at www.donorbridgetx.org.
All donations must be made online through DonorBridge via credit card.
In the window labeled “Find a Nonprofit” enter ‘North Texas Chapter’.
In the list at the left you will find North Texas Chapter – American Theatre
Organ Society. That’s us. To the right side of this entry you will find the
box that says “Donate Now”. Click on it and follow the instructions. The magic
date and time is September 8, 2010 between 7 AM and 7 PM Dallas, TX time
(Central Daylight Time). Donations at anytime will of course be accepted
but proportional matching grants will only be awarded during these hours on
this date. Giving a gift on September 8th goes even further than a gift at
any other time.

Why give a gift to the North Texas Chapter and what will the funds be used
for you might ask? The North Texas Chapter is an IRS and Texas non-profit
501(c)(3) corporation. We do not have paid staff or positions. All funds
received go for the improvement of the chapters 3/17 Wurlitzer Theatre
Pipe Organ, its 3/12 totally sampled Traveling Organ, the promotion and
production of programs utilizing the Wurlitzer and the Traveling Organ.
All income we receive as a result of our ‘shows’ goes directly into the expenses
of the shows. For us the term ‘non-profit’ has real meaning. We also have
a nice 3/15 Robert-Morton that needs a home. There is another city owned
performing arts center in North Texas that is ideally suited to its installation.
We do not currently have the funds available to install it. A gift to the
North Texas Chapter-ATOS via DonorBridge during the matching grant
event would be a good start in providing a platform to raise the funds
necessary to pursue the installation of the second theatre organ,
a 3/15 Robert-Morton, in the North Texas area, as well as our ability to
expand educational programs to young musicians and students.

For more information please go to our website, www.ntc-atos.org.
There is also a wealth of information on the NTC, our instruments and
our activities.
