And that is what bothers me - the unknown. Even man to man I don’t always know - the fascination with sports confuses me, as a simple example.

I have tried to raise the subject but the best I have got is that when she sees me in a skirt she "sees a woman" even though she does agree that I look good in most skirts. There are some that she doesn't like and, interestingly, they are the ones that I really like. As for pursuing the subject I try and get her to read favourable articles of look at good pictures of men in skirts and she shows a distinct lack of interest. It's difficult to hold a conversation when the other person has switched off.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.

It varies enormously. I have had partners who were fine with some types of clothing and not others and one who could not take it at all. I have a woman friend (not a partner) who is completely relaxed about what I wear when we socialise together. We are having a bar lunch today and I asked her if she wanted me in male mode or dressed as a woman (I do the whole spectrum of in between as well as the whole female presentation) and she said I was up to me. She gives the same feedback on my outfits she would give to a woman and NEVER makes observations about me being masculine or feminine. Today I choose to dress in a completely male outfit but it is pleasing that I was genuinely free to choose.

I used to look at kilting forums. I recall women's reactions to kilted men be described as this... "Women either love it, or hate it." Those who love it see a very confident man. . So... Could this view point expand to include non-kilt designs?

Perhaps? And the two opinions might not align completely either. Either way it's quite... unfair. Unfair in the sense that were a man to tell them how to dress... need I say more? No. Frankly, I wouldn't want to tell my significant other what to wear - I might tell her what things I liked on her, but that would be the extent.

She is lovely. We talk about all sorts of things but at some point we will discuss the last dresses or skirts we bought. We had a nice long lunch and decided that our next outing together would be a shopping trip to the sales and it was just assumed I would be dressed as a woman for this. Her only complaint about me is that I am 3 sizes bigger than her so we can't swop clothes.moonshadow wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 12:00 pmShe sounds like a good friend!rivegauche wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 10:31 am .
