Stupid Question

Post by STEVIE »

........but I will ask it anyway?
Please tell me what exactly is shown in the picture?
I'd really appreciate as many answers as possible and I assure everyone that it is in a good cause, menwise!

It is a lampshade for a 1940's photographic darkroom lamp ........ now what was that saying about silly questions.

Otherwise it looks very much like a black, box pleated, mid length skirt, with side fastening.

Visually it is a pleated (maybe tennis) skirt, however as the question was asked in the way it was, I did a bit of digging and know what it actually is, very clever.

When playing tennis more of a restrictive movement skirt - too much heavy box pleating.
When servicing the ball to the opponent nothing to fear modesty wise - too much hem length.
Have seen these in years past in tennis athletic shops - colors red white black navy blue pink green.
Side or back zipper closing - some with an elastic band for sizing assist.

And horrors - could possibly be hiding a skort within and no place for a spare ball !
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

Nothing to do with tennis. It's a skirt-like skort, pleated like that at the back as well. I have one in beige. No elasticated waist, so the measurement there is crucial. Side zip fastening and alas, no pockets. 18" drop, waist to hem. (Model wears UK size 16. No perfume, no hose, just an alluring smile)

And he wears it well - I like a skirted male model in real time instead of a picture with no dimension.

Yea, but prefer the model not to pose like he's doing a hip thrust from The Full Monty.....

Ok so we are done here, it's a pair of shorts, not a skirt or a skort.

You might laugh, BC, but 'the Full Monty' couldn't have been further from my mind that day I rattled off a few shots in the garden. That seems to be the only one that survived.
MOH and a few of her lady friends did a hilarious 'full Monty' sketch at our local tennis club some years ago, with a quick flash at the end showing their knickers in National colours....German, French, Union Jack & Irish tricolour.
