Oxford Men's Skirt

Post by Coder »

Another high-priced item, but figured it can't hurt to point these out?

Mostly sold out on the Wolf & Badger site - a cool $375.

I pulled up the site before reading to the end of your post. High-priced is right, I almost choked when I saw the price in the site...

Thanks for posting this stuff anyway. It is encouraging to see.

They've gotta be joking. The wretched thing doesn't even look nice.

There's that, too. I've seen worse, but this one is pretty bad...

I'd rather go get multiple brand new kilts with that money (or even those Acton things from that other thread, at what $150 each? At least they looked decent...), but thanks for getting something new out there. But they won't actually be seen "out there" because no one will pay that much for that thing!

That said, I rarely even pay new prices for kilts.

The design reminded me of a Rundholz skirt:

A lot of Rundholz's skirts are similar - very unstructured and bubble-skirt-like.

It is paying for it that would hurt. A lot of money for something so daggy.

Almost looks like a modified (more complicated) version of a Macabee https://www.macabiskirt.com/macabi-knee-length-skirt and it's poofed a bit for the photo shoot, but otherwise I could see wearing that. Except I'd never spend $375 for it!!

Seeing this "Oxford men's skirt" in a dark colour, I leapt to the assumption that (despite the price) it was intended as subfusc, the traditional academic dress which members of that university must wear for formal university and college occasions, such as sitting exams, academic ceremonies, and grand dinners. In that respect, IIRC the university abolished the skirts/trousers distinction for men/women a few years ago.

Well, at least it has pockets-something I wouldn't expect from fashion designers. But if it is going to have an uninspired appearance, the least they can do is lower the price.
