Hey there, Stephanie! Speaking as one of the "veterans" of skirt wearing, I have to say your outfit looked nice, and while you felt nervousness, perhaps even apprehension about wearing a skirt as short as what you sported in your picture, I'm pleased that concern didn't stop you from going out. We have all been where you are today, but, the only way to combat your fears are to confront them, analyze them, then go about overcoming them. Now, that's not something that happens overnight, it takes time, how long depends solely on the individual, but, eventually, you'll come to realize that what you wear is no big deal whatsoever. The more you go out, the more you'll build that much needed confidence, so, just do it!

As for the length of that skirt, 14 inches means many things to many people. At six foot two (don't know if that makes me the tallest member of the Cafe), that hemline would be borderline scandalous on me, but I've worn them and the world didn't come crashing down on me, though I have to be careful during the height of summer because of the troubles associated with short skirts and hot seating surfaces like benches and such. However, for someone a half foot shorter than me or more, 14 inches might seem almost dowdy. It all depends on the person.
I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman.

Jeff,
From postings over a while I reckon Mike at 6'5" must be the tallest Forum contributor, closely followed by Carl at 6'4" and 6'3" Aussie probably level with Ian Milfmog (who I have met) and Big & Bashful.

So we're also-rans.

Hey now! I am 6'5" ... in 3.5" heels.

You know you're tall when in 4" heels an oxygen mask falls out of the sky and dangles in front of you.

OMG - I am vertical in 6 inches - like my feet are arched beyond vertical in 6 inches without a platform.
I couldn't imagine having to spend time in 10 without a massive platform!
I have 7'' but they're on point - a ballet boot - silly boots bought for me - nothing I'd wear out of the house!

10'' is really really high !!!
Stilts is a good analogy - cause they won't be glamorous at all.

It's good to have someone to look up to! literally! My little brother is 6 foot 5, well, on his good leg anyway, if he stands on the one that got mashed in a motorbike smash it brings him down to my height!
I am the God of Hellfire! and I bring you truffles!

Ahh, sorry, the 10" heels was a sequitur from a comment in the previous post by Daryl; "Hey now! I am 6'5" ... in 3.5" heels".
