Seen on facebook. Looks like a skirt to me

Post by timstannard »

Hi folks,
Just saw this on facebook,
It is listed under "bottoms",
Looks a lot like a skirt to me, Sadly I am unable to buy or wear skirts anymore, but I thought I would share the link.

Looks good to me.

If you can't buy or wear skirts, try this then. Clearly labeled as pants.

Looks like a copy of this design from France:

Other designs from Hiatus are receiving similar treatment in the Far East, such as this example:

I have one just like this that I ordered from Wish.com. It was $13 on there. The material is not cotton on the one I have. I like it a lot, but it took three months to arrive. The same one is list on Ebay and I have ordered from the company selling it before. Their shipping is much faster.

So, are they pants hidden by the wrap or is it single tube, skirt? Rather neat looking, and the inclusion of pockets is a positive -- size?

(The pics on the sites from Tim and Geron look a dash different...truly the same, or...?)

They are not pants but rather a skirt. There are two small pockets but they are both in very awkward positions and not usable in my opinion. Take a look at the listing on Ebay. There is a thin cloth belt that comes with the skirt. It is passed through a single belt loop in the back and ties in the front. The flaps in the front are both sewn on at the sides and you just pull them to the front. IT is extremely light in weight and comfortable to wear. Incerun is manufacturer of the one I have.

In the case of my second link, the cut of the knee-length Incerun product is (to my eye) indistinguishable from the Hiatus skirt. However, Incerun's has a plastic zip fastener in place of Hiatus's hidden buttons; and while Hiatus's fabric is labelled as 100% cotton, Incerun's is described as polyester, and is thinner and less soft to the touch.

So I would guess that that the other skirt is likewise a cunningly cost-reduced version of a designer product.

On the question of whether these things are skirts or trousers, I can confirm that the knee-length design is definitely a skirt. I think the confusion is due to its details on the e-commerce site, where it's described as "Casual Pleated Skirts Trousers Men". Presumably the trousers bit is there so that it gets indexed appropriately for gentlemen in search of adventure....
