Skirt Brand Names

I quite like Jaeger. They make simple garments, but high quality and last for ages if you look after them. But they are presently fighting for survival because of the pandemic.

I just don't like the "V" insert at the hem; always looks like it was converted from pants or a pants pattern.

Practical length and the nude colour is verasatile.
I'm in agreement on the V insert in the front hemline - I prefer the straight lines without the insert
I wonder is it lined - I prefer to wear lined skirts
And to be picky (cause I can be) I prefer a finished hem - not the raw hem which seems to be trendy a bit at the moment.

I doubt that sort of skirt would be lined. I used to think raw hems were a good candidate for doing building work but discovered that they end up tearing there without a folded and seamed edge - also the raw edge adds to the cutoff pants look.

Is the Y a tromp l’oeil? Maybe the intent is to make it look more like shorts?

That was my assumption too. Making it resemble shorts would enable you to get away with a very short length more easily. Trompe l'œil is a favourite technique among fashion designers, as you can see from those red-carpet dresses at film premieres. Is there a V at the back also?
