Swollowtail skirts, A fem to far?

Post by whorton »

The other day at Goodwill (yes, they are back in the good graces, but that is another thread.) I had occasion to purchase a black mid length pleated skirt. The only difference, it is a "swollowtail" skirt. i.e. Longer in back than the front to expose legs.

See attached image.

I've not worn it publicly, and am still a bit divided. It is cute, but almost too fem.

What say you all?

Then there is the IF you have the legs to wear it - AND you do !
The only thing I don't care for is the extreme length in the back
touching your footed wear - but it is your skirt and fits you !
What you pair it with on top is not shown to compliment the outfit
and thus the fem aspect of the garment.
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

Swallowtail, the mullet of skirts! Business in front, party in the back!

Would I wear one? Hmm! I'm not sure, but I wouldn't rule it out because it looks too "fem". Hell, I might wear it for that very reason!

I have one that is not too 'fem'. The longer back is modest, the cut is generous and it has very deep slash pockets, which I love.

Hitherto I understood the term 'swllowtail' to describe a pencil knee-length skirt that had a little fantail at bottom rear, facilitating walking, but sexy with it ! The model here is ME!

I think that they are known as waterfall skirts around here.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.

Done in moderation the "long/short" (I like the term "mullet skirt"!) they're attractive enough, but at anything more than about 5 cm difference I start finding the style distinctly unattractive (not unlike the hairdo).

I believe in this case, it's all business in the back, party up front!

That actually reminds me of a post I read I think on reddit about men shaving their legs. One commenter said he would shave the front and not the back, "all business up front, party in the back!"

Regarding the skirt, I don't think it's any more "femme" than a lot of what I wear, I just personally don't care for the style.

Not so much too fem but a bit strange on a male.

I think the two examples that Kirbstone posted are OK.

Hi All,
We challenge accepted norms and fashion choices.
For me, every day, it's just Me.
"Fem", if I can work it, I might?
Otherwise, I will ignore it, simply "My Choice, my Freedom!"
Just be comfortable or it certainly will not do you any favours.
Steve.
