Do you mean like what's done in certain Pacific islands? The Samoas, Tonga, and Fiji all have variants of the business suit where, instead of trousers, one wears a formal version of the sarong, made out of suit material, generally matching the jacket (and in the case of Fiji, for some instances, the skirt may have a serrated hem. In the case of Tonga, besides wearing a "necktie", one also wears a "waist tie" over the skirt called a ta ovala) Also, typically nice sandals substitute for the wingtips or loafers worn for the Western suit.

Search Nicola Sturgeon- Scottish mp (??). She nearly always wears a skirt suit, a lot of the time in red. I like skirt suits, don't like her.

Nicola does indeed look really smart in her skirt suits. I think she's great!

I would not wear that. It has pinstripes and the bulge area is made even more pronounced with non-matching stripes. I'll stick to skirts that may not hide the bulge but certainly don't draw attention to it either.
I was told I have balls for wearing skirts! My reply? "That's because balls this big won't fit in pants!"

I fully agree. I.m.o. all the designs are a bit over the top.

It's a kilt suit! 3 piece, and finely tailored! No rough fabric; it's almost silky to the touch. Okay, it's very expensive, but it will last decades :-)
Here's a photo of Ray in his outfit. He looks very smart indeed!

An excellent look Ray!

I've found a suitable jacket on eBay and the colouring is very close to the charcoal grey skirt. I've photoshopped the reduced length of it, otherwise is far too long.

The jacket was only £4. I'll look for another with shorter sleeves and maybe get that altered in length. Trying to match material and colour from online photography is obviously hit and miss, so I'm expecting a few bum steers.

I found a jacket on the $5 rack at the consignment shop I've been buying from recently. I looked inside to find a size label - no label except for a patch in the upper chest that said Brioni. That is a very expensive Italian suit brand. I took it to a dressing booth and tried it on. Not bad fit, a little big, but it was a men's jacket. I asked the owner what a men's jacket was doing in her store. She said it was brought in by a women who had been wearing it.
I didn't buy it even though she though it was probably cashmere and went well with the skirt I was wearing. But is was men's suit jacket length which is longer than I want to wear with a skirt.

I found that if you try a man's "Short" jacket, the look is not too bad. As mentioned, regular men's jackets are too long. But a short jacket works for me. 44S. Colour matching can be a problem, as you are trying to match two completely different pieces of clothing from different parts of the store. Unless it's black, that's easier. Even then you have to be careful of shading.
